About the Author

Trisha Whitney directs and teaches at a nonprofit anti-bias school called The Drinking Gourd Elementary School in Eugene, Oregon. Her unique program challenges each child at their own level, and teaches mutual encouragement, conflict resolution, diversity appreciation, and global awareness. Trisha believes in education that puts children first, that operates on a human scale, and that nurtures children s love of learning and opens their eyes to the world.
