About this Item

A handsome early Macmillan edition of Kim by Rudyard Kipling, published in London in 1902. Professionally bound in an attractive half-brown leather binding over cloth boards with gilt lettering and decorative gilt ornaments to the spine. Protected in a removable archival jacket.

Complete with frontispiece illustration, title page, and illustration list. The binding remains sound and square. Leather shows moderate rubbing and edge wear commensurate with age.

Heavy foxing is present on the front and rear free endpapers and blank leaves, with lighter scattered foxing elsewhere. The title page remains attractive and the text block is complete and firmly bound.

A very desirable decorative early edition suitable for collectors of Kipling, Edwardian literature, fine bindings, and classic adventure fiction.
