The exterior is clean, showing no stains or markings, with only the slightest edge wear and minimal bumping consistent with careful storage. The spine remains strong and attractive, and the binding is tight.

An inscription from a member of the Turnbow family to her grandchildren appears on the front endpaper, adding a meaningful provenance. Aside from this family inscription, the interior pages are clean and well preserved with no writing, tears, or stains. The only exception is in the rear index, where several family names and connections have been neatly highlighted by the grandparents; this was done carefully and does not detract from the presentation or readability.
Overall, the volume shows very little age for a book approaching fifty years old and presents as a handsome, well-kept edition.
