Thanfred is a thirteen-year-old boy on the cusp of manhood—and on the precipice of accepting the crown to rule the Four Lands. Without a true ruler, the kingdom is in disarray, and something must be done quickly before violence and corruption tear it apart.

Hope sparks when Thanfred’s mother has a prophetic dream that predicts her son will be king. But before the council will agree to anoint him, its members demand he prove himself worthy, sending him on a dangerous quest to find a great treasure hidden hundreds of leagues away in the great snowcapped mountains. The contents of the treasure are unknown but believed to be valuable and powerful beyond measure.

Thanfred naively sets out, unaware of the red-eyed wolves who are in league with Darkness and sworn to kill him. But, by the hand of God, Thanfred must not give up, no matter the cost.

About the Author

Joseph A. Gore Jr. has a bachelor's degree in computer science and many years' experience in IT and logistics. He lives in southern Indiana on a small farm surrounded by beeches, oaks, and hawks soaring overhead.

Gore continues his lifelong passion for creative writing in completing his new Christian fantasy, To Be King.
