A SECRET MISSION.

A TREASONOUS CRIME.

A KINGDOM SHATTERED BY THE BLADE OF DECEIT.

After forgiving her father, Taryn is struggling over how to move forward. She has her mother's name, but no leads, and the mastermind behind her father's murder is still a mystery. When an attack prompts an international investigation, Taryn defies direct orders and trails the ambassadors to uncover the truth, but the mission raises more questions than answers, and a deadly dispute leaves Taryn fleeing for her life, threatened into silence and sworn to secrecy over the events that transpired.

In the capital, Vladimir is left to knit the pieces of the country back together while feeling the absence of everyone, but when a wrongful accusation condemns an innocent to death, he is forced to betray the Crown he swore to protect.

Caught between the warring sides of the Crown and Kavari, Taryn becomes the master of deception. As she weaves one lie into another to regain the Crown's trust, Vladimir does everything he can to heal the rift without bloodshed, but far darker forces twist them both into doing things they never imagined, including risking the fate of the kingdom-and the lives of the people they love.
