The Kingsnake

An orphaned child falls in with a group of ragged fur traders. Two aging gunmen set off on a final journey in a last desperate search for fortune. A veteran travels south to bury his brother.

The Kingsnake is a modern parable, an anthological journey through the vitriol and tumultuousness of the American nineteenth century. Danger is everywhere: in the cruelness of nature, the tense and bitter backwardness of society, the darkness in the hearts of men themselves.

In a world where chaos reigns, comfort is scarce, and life is a luxury, few ever succeed, and the ones who do become hardened and venomous. Enter the century spanning tale of heartlessness and greed; join the desperate, unending peregrination of what little light ever shone, battered and scarred, through the violence that fed the American west.
