Kitchens (Home Repair and Improvement (Updated Series))

Gives practical advice on planning a kitchen layout, refinishing or painting cabinets, adding new hardware, installing floor tiles, and building cabinets, racks, and shelves

Fixing old cabinets and installing a new vinyl floor are two of the projects included in this highly revised guide to sprucing up aging kitchens. Each repair or improvement project starts off with a listing of tools and materials necessary for the specific task at hand. Illustrations are explicit enough so that they should provide guidance even for fixer-uppers who know little, if anything, about techniques associated with hanging a cabinet, removing ceramic tile, or the mechanical aspects of kitchen appliances. The book's second half is devoted to ideas for increasing storage facilities and to adding such contemporary conveniences as a water filter or an ice maker. Alice Joyce
