From the sweet-voiced female narrator's voice to the harp string and twinkle-bell page-turn signals, the producers seem to have the fairer sex in mind. The narrator's voice is easy to follow, and she carefully breaks down words (like "met-a-mor-pho-sis") for listeners. A young child reads the sidebars and information buttons between the main narration. The books seem to be carefully researched, though the question of "how are kittens born?" is delicately sidestepped with a demure illustration and the answer "one at a time."
