The Kitty: Who Sits Pretty A Rescue Story

The Kitty Who Sits Pretty: A Rescue Story is a heartwarming children's picture book inspired by compassion, community, and second chances. Set on a lively New York City block, the story follows a homeless little cat who survives through the kindness of everyday people, including a bodega owner, a baker, a barber, a waitress, and neighborhood firefighters. With her charming habit of "sitting pretty," the kitty wins hearts wherever she goes, finding food, friendship, and temporary shelter while searching for a place to belong.

When caring neighbors realize the kitty needs a real home, they contact the ASPCA, beginning her journey toward rescue and adoption. Her story reaches a loving family through a television pet adoption segment, leading to a forever home filled with love and safety. More than a rescue tale, this book introduces young readers to empathy, animal welfare, adoption, and the power of community support.

With gentle storytelling and meaningful educational back matter about shelters, fostering, and helping animals, this book encourages children to understand that even small acts of kindness can change lives. Perfect for animal lovers, families, and classrooms, it is a touching celebration of hope, belonging, and compassion
