Klezmer Tunes for Clarinet: 24 Pieces by clarinetist and editor Rudolf Mauz is a collection of traditional Klezmer tunes and Jewish melodies arranged for clarinet with piano accompaniment or clarinet duo. Created for clarinet players exploring folk-inspired repertoire and ensemble performance, the collection highlights the expressive phrasing, ornamentation, and rhythmic character associated with Klezmer musical traditions.
This collection includes 24 pieces in standard notation along with online audio featuring full performance recordings and play-along tracks. The audio supports listening, interpretation, phrasing development, rehearsal preparation, and performance practice while allowing clarinetists to play with stylistically informed accompaniment. The arrangements provide flexible options for solo clarinet with piano accompaniment as well as clarinet duo settings.
The collection offers an engaging way to explore the emotional depth and rhythmic vitality of Klezmer music through performance-based playing. From expressive melodic lines to energetic dance-inspired passages, these arrangements encourage musical interpretation and stylistic awareness while expanding repertoire choices for recitals, lessons, informal gatherings, and cultural performances. The included online audio also helps reinforce tempo, articulation, and ensemble balance during individual practice sessions.
Sheet music selections in this volume reflect the traditions of Jewish folk and celebratory music while providing practical arrangements for clarinet performance. The collection serves as a valuable repertoire resource for musicians interested in world music, folk-inspired performance, and clarinet ensemble playing.
This collection combines authentic musical character with flexible performance options and professionally recorded accompaniment materials.
