Knitting paper is used to design knitting charts for new patterns. This grid paper uses rectangular spaces rather than square to reflect the actual shape of knitting stitches. For most knitting projects, choose the 4:5 ratio. This ratio means that 4 stitches measure the same length as 5 rows (40 stitches = 50 rows).
