A Knot of Frogs, a Passel of Hogs: Recess with Collective Nouns

Swing! Kick! Romp! Roll! An adventure awaits a classroom of children as they head outdoors for an engaging recess full of movement, fun and learning new things!

With the ring of a bell, a group of children sprint outside to slide, stomp, wiggle and leap like their favorite groups of animals. With every action, the kids use their imaginations and their bodies, pretending to be a variety of animals, from frogs to wallabies to clams and seals. Cleverly weaving together interactive play with learning collective nouns through a montage of animal groupings, award-winning author Claire Noland and illustrator Susie Oh encourage children of all ages to enjoy recess in a new way, and engage their minds and muscles again, and again…and AGAIN!

A KNOT OF FROGS combines rhythmic text with vibrant illustrations in an interactive story designed to get kids moving, playing, and imagining themselves in new ways. Perfect for elementary classrooms, library story times, and memorable read-alouds at home.
