Of Knowledge and Faith is more than about a debate between science and religion; it proclaims a winner. It presents a hypothesis that dismisses Judeo-Christianity as mere superstition. Using history as his overarching guide, Philip L. Tan traces the facts and events that led to the improbable rise of Christianity from the second century onwards before encountering resistance from successive, secular movements, namely the Renaissance, the Scientific Revolution, the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution and the twentieth-century ideologies of socialism, communism and Nazism. Because of their intellect, humans have conquered their fear of the unknown, thereby realizing self-mastery.
