A treatise on medals including the metals of which they are made, descriptions of heads and reverses, inscriptions, preseravtion, ornamentation and symbolism, counterfeits, more. Addison's essay concerns the error in distributing modern medals. Full panelled leather, rebacked, 156 pages. Text includes decorative initials and borders, a couple of small and very basic illustrations. Original covers have expected wear, printing on the spine is a little amateurish, rear free endpaper absent, front free endpaper and half-title detached as are the final two pages, text block otherwise sound, long and neatly written note about the book on front free endpaper, pages age-toned but clean. Hard Cover. Fair. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 044456
