Knowledge in Motion: University, Science and Participation

The concept of knowledge in motion encompasses a set of processes aimed at facilitating the transfer, application and evaluation of the results of academic research in various social and professional contexts. These processes include the local production and generation of knowledge, its translation, exchange, co-production, implementation and communication, with the purpose of positively influencing public policies and professional practices. It implies a dynamic interaction between researchers, institutions and users of knowledge with complex systems, such as organizational, normative and political structures, promoting a bidirectional flow between theory and practice. It also considers cultural and social aspects, such as equity and social justice, while being framed in a global environment influenced by economic, political, technological and cultural factors. Rigorous evaluation of its impact is key, using indicators such as the adoption of evidence-based practices to assess its effectiveness in reducing the gap between research and its practical application.
