About the Author: Charles Reichblum is president of Century Features, a news service that syndicates fascinating facts and anecdotes to advertisers in newspapers around the world. Some advertisers have been running the features week-in and week-out for over 38 years. His fascination with facts and the odd twists began in the 1940s when he was a "gofer" at a radio station. Later he worked as news and sports director as well as a play-by-play announcer on radio stations in Pittsburgh and Upstate New York.
The Knowledge in a Nutshell series grew out of his collection of the unique, odd, and fascinating information he has been collecting for his clients and his friends over the years.
