The Koala Connection

THE KOALA CONNECTION invites young readers on a thrilling, heartwarming adventure they won’t forget! When a mysterious piece of ancient Aboriginal bark appears in Leon Lionburgh’s European zoo, Djali the koala knows it cannot stay there. It belongs home—and it’s up to Djali and the inventive zookeeper Leon to make sure it gets there safely. But traveling from Europe to Australia is no small feat… especially when it means taking a daring submarine journey across vast oceans.

Along the way, Djali’s cleverness, courage, and playful spirit shine, while Leon’s wisdom, compassion, and love for animals guide their path. Children will laugh, gasp, and cheer as the duo faces unexpected challenges, discovers hidden wonders of the sea, and learns that even the smallest creatures can make a big difference when it comes to caring for the world around them.

Their journey leads them to Australia’s wild landscapes, a nature reserve, where they meet the legendary Koala Uncle Bunyip. Under his guidance, Djali and Leon enter an Aboriginal village filled with fascinating traditions, stories, and a lively festival celebrating community, culture, and the deep bond between humans and nature. Through this immersive adventure, young readers learn that every action counts, and that stewardship and care are responsibilities we all share.
