About this Item
2 issues. Folio (209 x 278 mm). Original self-wrappers. September and December 1979 editions of the newsletter published by the Kuwaiti Embassy in London in the midst of the oil crisis and featuring H.H. Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah (1926-2006) on both front pages. Published in English, the newsletter is dedicated to the Kuwaiti perspective on the 1979 crisis, a visit by the Public Health Minister to the Emir of Bahrain, H.H. Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to discuss the improvement of health services in the Arab world, the first visit by a Kuwaiti minister to Iran "since the revolution", and numerous updates on the oil industry and infrastructure development. The latter includes the news that the government has taken over private shareholding in the Kuwait Oil Tanker Co., as part of a larger transition of the Kuwait Oil Company from private to government hands, a loan to finance the Bomoni-Moya Road project, and all-important trends in crude oil production and prices, including statements by OAPEC on the crisis. Taken together, a fascinating summary of the state of foreign relations between Gulf states and the oil industry at the close of the 1970s. - In excellent condition. Seller Inventory # 62510
