Roma, Lodovico Grignani, 1650. Dedicata al Cristianissimo LUIGI XIV RE DI FRANCIA E DI NAVARRA. Prima e unica edizione di questo poema epico in quaranta canti, che celebra Amerigo Vespucci (ritratto nell antiporta) e le sue imprese accostandolo a Ulisse e all Odissea. "Nato a Firenze intorno al 1584, conseguì la laurea in legge, ma poi si dedicò assiduamente alla letteratura. Fece parte dell'Accademia della Crusca col nome di Imbucato, dell'Accademia Fiorentina e di quella romana degli Umoristi. Da Caterina Frescobaldi, sposata nel 1636, ebbe un figlio, Mattias Maria, anch'egli letterato". First and only edition of this epic poem celebrating Amerigo Vespucci (whose portrait is at the frontispiece) and his enterprises, comparing him to Ulixes and Odissey. Born in Florence in 1584, he studied as a lawyer but he soon embraced litterature. He was a member of the Accademia della Crusca. In 4to, mm.215x300h; 10cc.nn.+564+6cc.nn. Stupenda antiporta allegorica incisa, manca il ritratto dell'autore. Legatura coeva in pergamena, restauro al piatto posteriore, titolo manoscritto sul dorso. Codice inv.2025347.
