This work presents the story of the training center for Army ground and air forces in southeastern California, western Arizona, and southern Nevada. The purpose of the center was to train U. S. troops in realistic desert conditions in the event they might be sent to North Africa to aid the British in fighting the Germans. The book contains photographs, illustrations, and maps.
