Green cloth cover. x+349; red 'withdrawn' stamp to front endaper, which also has a strip of light rippling across top, this stamp repeated+lib.number verso t.p., these the only lib. markings, otherwise clean tight & unmarked in clean unworn covers; unclipped clean jacket with just a few hints of edge rubbing, will seal in protective wrapper when ordered. Hotopf's extremely subtle and reflexive study (with coverage of 'the meaning of Meaning of Meaning' !) never achieved the recognition it deserved - he was somehow cold-shouldered by both the linguistic philosophy establishment and the literary critics. Being rather shy and stuck in the London School of Economics Psychology Department probably didn't help. Warrants a serious re-examination.
