Bound by Hammond - beautifully, with a bit of fading and rubbing to spine, but otherwise in excellent condition. Hammond was a contemporary British bookbinder whose work appears on high end books of the period - but whose biography has proven elusive. The work itself is a comically illustrated French translation of what is considered the first great novel in Latin prose (2nd Century A.D.) and has a bit of scattered foxing; but altogether this is a handsome copy.
