A large folio leaf from the 1470 edition of Flavius Josephus' De Antiquitate Judaica, De Bello Judaico, printed in Augsburg Germany by Johann Sch�ssler. The leaf measures 395 x 285 mm (15 � x 11 � inches) printed in double columns, 50 lines in roman type. Rubricated paragraph marks. Page number (47) in ink to upper edge of verso; light browning, very fresh. See Goff, Incunabula in American Libraries (1964), item J-481. ISTC ij0481000. Flavius Josephus [c. AD 37 c. 100] was a Roman Jewish historian and military leader. This is a leaf from the 1470 edition of his work 'Antiquities of the Jews', originally composed circa 94 A.D.; translated into Latin from the original Greek by Rufinus Aquileiensis.
