The purpose of Lean Tooling is simple: To ensure that the right tool, in good condition, is in the hands of the right person, at the right time, in the right place. To do that, we have created a five-phase process that may, on the surface, seem too detail, too picky. But remember, lean manufacturing is a series of small, interconnected steps leading to lasting achievements. Lean Tooling is exactly the same. Each step is tried-and-true. They have been tested. We urge you to try them for yourself, and then modify the system to fit your needs.
