[5' x 7 & 1/2'] Two volumes, both early UK reprints. Octavo both. Volume two: Bowed spine with moderate lean: red cloth with gold lettering. Spine is sunned. Worn at edges espcially at top of spine. Likewise worn along raised spine edges. Cloth worn through entire in one tiny (1/8th-inch) spot along rear edge. 3 of 4 board corners mildly bumped. Boards have moderate darkening at edges. One grey stain about 3/4th-inch across near top of rear board. End pages tanned especiall front & rear 'free' end pages. A previous (probably the original) owner's pencilled name and year of purchase '1894' is written on FFEP. On the half title page, original owner wrote in ink inscription: 'To R.A. Dawsn from Henry Dawson, 1907'. Top textblock edge much darkened. The fore-edge and bottom edge have much more moderate darkening. Nice frontispiece illustrated portrait of the author with protective flyleaf. Clean, unmarked up text. (272 pp.) Volume One: Red cloth with gold lettering. Sunned spine. Worn edges with heaviest wear top of spine. All for corners bumped. Worn through cloth (about one-quarter inch across) near top of spine. Bowed spine with moderate lean. Textblock edges darkened. End pages tanned. Previous owner (again likely the original owner) pencilled name 'Dawson' and year of purchase (1894) on FFEP. And again on followig page an inked inscription: 'To R.A.
