I LEFT TO RETURN... TO MYSELF. Creativity needs no registration. Art needs no visas or permissions

I Left to Return... to Myself is more than a collection of stories-it is a powerful exploration of identity, migration, resilience, and the transformative role of art.

Written by artist and curator Uliana Sal, the book brings together the personal journeys of twenty contemporary artists from different countries whose lives and creative paths have been shaped by relocation, cultural adaptation, and the search for belonging. Through interviews, reflections, and curatorial insight, the book reveals how art becomes a language of healing, self-discovery, and renewal.

Combining personal narratives with professional perspectives, I Left to Return... to Myself offers readers an intimate look at the emotional and creative realities of artists rebuilding their lives across cultures. It is a book for artists, curators, collectors, researchers, and anyone interested in creativity, identity, and the human experience.
