In good condition. Nicely bound in beautiful calf leather. Nicely decorated spine with decorative gilt vases and two red morocco labels. Boards are worn with scuffing, surface abrasions. Rear board has dampness staining that seems to have saturated back paste down. No blooms as a result. Typically creased spine with chipped extremes. Head and tail exposed. Silk book marker in nice condition, only slightly frayed. Previous owner s name in old hand on front fly leaf and title page. Text block typically toned with light foxing. Free of known marginalia. Binding remains tight and intact. Please see photos. Two volumes in one on Justinian origins of the Napoleonic Code which is the French civil code established under the French Consulate in 1804 and still in force, although frequently amended.
