112p; 68p. A hardcover book bound in full leather with gilt trim. POOR CONDITION. Boards are detached; edges are generally scuffed. Bookplate inside front cover; early owner's flourishing signature and other notations on front endpapers and title page. Pencil note on page 54 in first book, but rest of text unmarked. Pages remain tightly bound in themselves, despite damaged cover, but should be handled with care. OFFERED AS-IS. Two volumes in one (the 7th edition of the first book, and 3rd edition of the second, both published in 1808). "Peter Plymley" was the pseudonym of Anglican preacher Sydney Smith (1771-1845), who, co-founded the long-running EDINBURGH REVIEW. Smith supported Catholic Emancipation against the anti-papal Tories; in writing his LETTERS ON THE SUBJECT OF THE CATHOLICS, he denounced the bigoted opposition of rural clerics to Catholic Emancipation.

Priority shipping is $15.00 for delivery by either UPS or Priority Mail. Delivery is within 2-6 business days and includes tracking and insurance. Economy shipping is $7.00 for delivery bu US Media Mail with delivery confirmation.
