About this Item
A leather bound copy of this uncommon play by Alexandre Dumas Fils. The seventh edition of Alexandre Dumas Fils five-act comedy, L'Etrangere. Published in French. Dumas was the son of the author of classic works such as The Three Musketeers. The present work by the younger Dumas opens in a high society wedding lunch, but by the end of the wedding the groom realises his wife has disappeared. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper, 'Frederick Hyne, Sep 22 1917'. Rebound in a quarter calf binding over patterned boards. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards and the extremities, with a couple of scuffs to the leather near the front joint. Rubbed to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
