Geneva, New York: Printed by Ira Merrell, 1838., 1838. Very good. - Octavo, 8-3/8 inches high by 5-1/8 inches wide. Softcover, bound in printed self wraps sewn into a later paper rear wrap with overlapping spine. The cover page is slightly soiled and the top corner bumped. 24 pages. Very good. The prominent 19th-century educator Benjamin Hale, Sr. (1797-1863), taught at the Saco Academy, Bowdoin College, the Gardiner Lyceum, and Dartmouth College. He was the third president of Geneva College which was to become Hobart College.
