THE LIES I TELL: Vol 1

A fine line exists between light and darkness, truth and deception—and Brielle Hughes is living somewhere in between.

Quiet, sheltered, and afraid to disappoint her deeply religious parents, Brielle has built her life around the lies she tells. She knows dishonesty is wrong, but the truth would hurt the people she loves—and possibly cost her their love in return. So she hides her desires, conceals her mistakes, and pretends to be the daughter everyone expects her to be.

Then there’s Lucien Ward.

Handsome, sophisticated, and irresistibly British, Lucien is everything Brielle has ever dreamed about. He visits the coffee shop where she works every day, always ordering the same black coffee to go. Brielle watches him from a distance, captivated by his smooth accent, perfect smile, and commanding presence. To him, she is merely the quiet young woman behind the counter—or so she believes.

Until the day Lucien finally notices her.

A simple hello becomes an unforgettable conversation, and before long, Brielle finds herself drawn into a relationship more intense than anything she has ever imagined. With Lucien, she feels beautiful, desired, and brave enough to become the woman she has always wanted to be.

But Lucien has secrets of his own.

As passion blurs the line between fantasy and reality, Brielle’s carefully constructed world begins to unravel. Every choice leads to another secret, every secret demands another lie, and the man of her dreams may become the reason she loses everything.

Getting to know Lucien Ward could be the best thing that ever happened to Brielle—or the worst mistake of her life.

These are only the beginning of the lies she tells.
