Graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Bob ranked as the #1 Air Force ROTC cadet. At the University of Tennessee, he finished a master’s degree and PhD coursework in Astronautical Engineering.

At pilot training, Bob was a distinguished graduate and the "Most Outstanding Second Lieutenant." He finished his F-111 training class #1 academically and Top Gun. He flew AT-38s as a flight examiner, ranked #1 of over 200 instructor pilots.

Bob was a flight instructor and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aeronautics at the Air Force Academy, teaching Aeronautics and Stability and Control. He flew F-16s in Japan, becoming a Flight Commander and Squadron Top Gun. At Iowa State University, he was the Commandant of Cadets and taught Leadership, Management and Officership.

Retiring from the Air Force, Bob joined Norwest Corporation in sales and sales management. He became the Head of Strategic Programs for Norwest Investments and Insurance, overseeing several sales divisions with emphasis on Private Banking, Trust Services, Brokerage and Investment Management.

Bob became CEO of a start-up company that focused on online brokerage (until it was acquired). Four months later, he became the acquiring company’s CEO.

Bob has been a pilot for over 30 years. He has managed groups from 10 to over 1,000 and has a rare mix of management and leadership talent, having split his professional life between the military and the corporate world. He has the academic credentials, rich life experience, the awards and the practical experience to add value to many organizations, whether as a speaker, author or coach.
