THE LIVE DOLL or Ellen's New-Years Gift By the Authoress of the "Three Birthdays", "Baby Tales" London William Darton and Son Undated, written inscription dated 1838, online records give a date of circa 1836 on this Children’s Story published by William Darton, 5.5 inches tall approx., illustrated with a frontispiece, and extra engraved title page and four plates within, the frontispiece is hand coloured, two of the plates within are partly hand coloured.144 pages. CONDITION The book is disbound lacking its original cloth covers, but has partial remains of cloth spine with its title, endpapers worn and darkened, internally the plates are noticeably browned, a few minor foxing marks else the text block is in good general condition. Book would benefit from rebinding else an acceptable example of this early Children’s tale published by Darton.
