The Dutch occupation, rise and reign of Coxing and his descendants, Ch ing conquest, and Japanese occupation are discussed in turn. The descriptive portion is devoted to geography, political organisation, agriculture. industry and commerce, the people, and travel in Formosa Maps and illustrations abound.
