PreS-An imaginative board book illustrated with full-color, computer-enhanced, action photos. In response to the question, "What does baby want to ride?" a diapered infant is shown on a magic carpet, riding an elephant's trunk, on a spaceship, in a race car, and astride a dolphin. The cover shows the child on a tiger's back. The book ends with the little one snuggling in Daddy's arms. Together, they smile, "Laugh, baby, laugh!" The photos are big and bright with funny touches superimposed on the images, such as the baby wearing sunglasses in the race car and space suit and helmet on the spaceship. The use of a smaller font at the top of the page and larger size at bottom for the action text, "Vroom, baby, vroom!" emphasizes the movement. Baby probably doesn't know yet about these flights of fancy, but this title is fun for a ride. And, back home, Daddy's arms always wait. Very comforting.-Jacqueline Elsner, Athens Regional Library, GA
