"Delpech, Professor of Surgery at Montpellier, published a comprehensive treatise on deformities of the bones and joints. [He] did more than any other man toward the development of orthopaedics in France. -Garrison - /Morton 4315.". This is the Atlas volume, which incorporates much explantaory text with the illustrations. "The basis of his entire teaching is the concept that there is a calibrated relationship between pull and counter-pull within certain co-operating muscles in the body. . The main point however, is how to strengthen the musceles, weakened by deformity, by means of sytematic gymnastics -p.5 of the accompanying 20pp. Introductory booklet. Mr. Joyce was a founding partner of the former Chicago Rare Book Center, of Chicago and Evanston, Illinois. Proprietor Tom Joyce appeared regularly as the book appraiser on "The Appraisal Fair", seen on Home And Garden Television, HGTV.
