Illustrations include a scene of haying on the coast, a ship unloading cattle, a solitary camp, a scene of kippering salmon, spreading cod-fish on the rocks at Magpie Bay, watching for fish, a sailing ship, a ship nearly being swamped, a scene of nets drying, a Labrador home, a scene of netting seals, a seal-oil furnace, a view of winter quarters, a scene of sled-dog teams fighting, a view of Little Mecatina, a view of Chateau Bay, the wharf at Henley Harbor, peat huts with the natives, a scene of canoeing among icebergs, and a stop of herring.
