About the Author

Frank Leonbruno was born in Whitehall, birthplace of the United States Navy which fought the British on Lake George during the Revolutionary War. He began his career on Lake George in 1935 when he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. In 1941 he started working fro the New York State Conservation Dept., later renamed the Department of Environmental Conservation. He retired from the DEC in 1983, having been supervisor of Lake George operations since 1973. He has served his community and the Town of Bolton well-- as president of the Bolton Central School Board; as town councilman, and town and county supervisor; and as a member of the Bolton Volunteer Fire Company.
