Hardcover in brick colored cloth with spine lettered in gilt. 317 pp. A fine, tight bright copy of the 1869 American printing of Moore's famous four-part narrative poem of Oriental romance titled for a beautiful princess of India. Upon it's first publication in 1817, it put Moore, in the eyes of the public, on the same level as Byron and Scott and it is considered a source inspiration for Dickinson's oriental imagery.
