Gilt impressed floral design front and back. Gilt tiles + flourishes on spine. Pages gilt edged all side. b/w engraving illustrations. Drawn by Richard Westall engraved by E J Portbury. Frontis: the Princess listening with Fadladeen in one of his loftiest moods of criticism beside her. The young poet leaning about a branch of a tree, continues his story. 16.6 x 10.5cm. 376 pages. Condition: Wear on spine seams, edges + corners. o/p cracked down seam, main bulk of binding which is holding firm + on end paper has become unglued from central seam, packing paper visible. Dedication also o/p dated Xmas 1906. This and next blank page loose from binding. Half title page foxed + red mark bottom left corner on edge, this has seeped through to back of page + bottom edge of title page. End paper red tinge corner bottom seam edge. Remainder clean, little wear, good colour. Overall GC.
