Softcover artist's book; no marks or writing to book. 36 pages. About 10.5 inches square. Nature photographs of the American West taken by the artist in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Montana and New Mexico, June 2-July 12, 1988 run along the bottom of each page of this book in contact sheet strips. One image is enlarged per page and is assembled with a grid of four small close-cropped images of the human body that echo the landscapes they rest upon. The artist opens her book with a quote from Barry Lopez, "The differing landscapes of the earth are hard to know individually. They are as difficult to engage in conversation as wild animals.".
