This document written in brown ink on vellum is a deed of sale for a piece of land made between Richard Thubbersty and Richard Simpson, written in secretary hand dated 1629. One side of the document is written in Latin, the other in English, each repeating the same information. The document is witnessed by John Styles, John Rowby and Thomas Burscomthe; Styles and Rowby sign with their respective marks, since they would have limited literacy. Burscomthe signs in an italic hand, a script often associated with higher levels of education. This document has been transcribed from both languages which will be included. Measures approx. 4 ½" 9 ½" with wax seal. Seller Inventory # 021043
