This leads them, controversially, to a deflationary view of the significance of the study of language: they dismiss the idea that the philosophy of language should be preeminent in philosophy. Joshua Gans is the father of three and Chair of Management at the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne. He is the author of several economics textbooks and the 2007 recipient of Australia's Young Economist award.
