107 pages with diagrams. Octavo (8 1/4" x 5 1/2") bound in original; publisher's black cloth with yellow lettering to spine in original jacket. Introduction by William H Watts. German chess player, mathematician, and philosopher, Emanuel Lasker(1868 1941), who was World Chess Champion from 1894 to 1921, reveals his secrets in this classic how-to chess primer. In his prime the author was one of the most dominant champions. He is still generally regarded today as one of the greatest chess players ever. Condition: Corners bumped and rubbed. Jacket with chips and tears to edges, tear down the center of spine else a very good copy in a good jacket.
