Add to basketRandom House; New York; 1966. Hard Cover. Book condition: Very Good. Dust jacket condition: Good. Unstated edition, stated "FIFTH PRINTING, March 1966". Hardcover in unclipped dust jacket. 9-5/8" tall, 622 numbered pages includes "Acknowledgements", "Notes" and "Index", followed by an unnumbered page of "About the Author". This book has been read but is in very good condition: the exterior is square, very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings and with lightly bumped but otherwise undamaged spine ends; the spine has a mild concave valley running the entire length; hinges are strong and nit damaged in any way. Except for an inked name/date/city on the back of the FFEP, the interior is perfectly clean and completely free of writing, stray marks, stains and any sort of paper damage. Not remaindered, ex-library or a Book Club edition. The dust jacket is intact and is clean and free of scratches, scrapes, and fading; it has a moderate amount of wear along the top and bottom edges, particularly at the head and heel of the spine (see photo). However, it also has masking tape on its back side--along all edges, on both folds and on the entire spine; this tape has not affected the book's binding but it has darkened the jacket on both flaps and the rear panel (see photos). The jacket is now in a mylar cover. A thorough study of WWII from January 27, 1945 to May 8, 1945; "These crucial days saw not only the defeat of Nazi and Fascist dictatorships but the beginning of a chain of dramatic events--both great and small--whose far-reaching consequences created the Cold War." (from the front flap).
