Ask an average Christian what they believe the last days of the church will look like, and you’re likely to get some version of an end-times revival, with an explosion in supernatural gifting and some wealth transfers sprinkled in for good measure. But what if these common beliefs are not entirely accurate?
To hear them tell the tale, this is as bad as it's going to get, and it’s all sunshine and lollipops from here on out. Sure, we have had a decrease in true devotion and worship in the Western church lately, but that’s just going to make us appreciate the flood of new believers all the more.
It’s hard not to get enthusiastic at the thought of full stadiums surrendering their lives to Christ on a daily basis, millions upon millions of souls brought into the kingdom overnight, and those who once mocked and ridiculed believers as oddities having to finally see the error of their ways.
What we’ve been told the last days of the church will be like sounded so good that many didn’t bother to compare what they were hearing with what the Bible had to say to see whether or not the Word confirmed the words of men or contradicted them. This critical examination, however, presents an opportunity for personal growth and a deeper understanding of our faith.
The aim of this book is simple: What does the Bible say about the last days of the church, and is it in harmony with what much of the modern-day church believes its last days will be like?
Only one can be right between what the Word says and what men say, and spoiler alert: it is not the opinions of men. The Word will out whether we agree or not, for what has been written has been established, and what has been established will be fulfilled.
