Add to basket(Shape Book) The Last of the Mohicans by Edric Vredenburg with illustrations by Mabel F. Taylor. London: Raphael Tuck & Sons, circa 1894. Chromolithographed pictorial covers, die-cut in the shape of a young American Indian boy wearing a feathered headdress. Unpaginated, (12pp.) plus wrappers. There is one double-page and two single-page chromolithographs to illustrate this poem "about an Indian Brave." There are sepia drawings on all text pages. The condition of this book is incredible. The only flaws that keep this book from being graded Mint, As New are a light pencil inscription on the inside of the front cover, reading "Merry Christmas, to Calvin from, Grama, 1894" and an area on the double-page illustration where the image stuck together and lifted a little bit of the paper. This book is Very Fine. One would be hardpressed to conceive of another copy of this book that has survived in this condition.
