FIRST EDITION, pp. 252, crown 8vo, original green boards, backstrip lettered in gilt, faintest of spotting to top edge and a few spots to rear free endpaper, dustjacket with an illustration by Charles Raymond, the backstrip panel with some slight surface abrasion and faintly toned, tiny nick at head of rear panel, very good. A late novel from the anarchist and gardener, evincing his concern with rural preservation the narrative concerns a government proposal to replace the rural setting of the Kentish village with a gigantic towerblock that will house the whole community.
