Item description from seller

30x22 cm. Uncolored map of Europe in fair to good condition on fragile paper. Verso blank. Repaired splits along two folds, chipping at edges. This map appears to have been published at the very beginning of the war. It does not seem to be designed for people to follow the progress of the war as the map does not show sites of early major battles such as Ypres, Mons, Tannenburg or Mons. At the bottom is text with a timeline of events in August, 1914 which precipitated the war. The author, H. P. Clearwater, used this piece to promote his book about Rheumatism. It is unusual to see a piece like this coming out of a rural location such as Hallowell, Maine.
