Latin America has been the site for significant mining projects by national and multinational mining companies during the last decade. Many new and emerging technologies are effectively being developed, refined, and tested in Latin American mines, concentrators, pipelines, and tailing ponds.
This new proceedings volume highlights these success stories. It contains the proceedings of the first Latin American Mining Perspectives Symposium, a symposium organized by SME. The volume contains 37 papers contributed by authors working in and influencing Latin America's mining and metallurgy.
Chapters include:
Exploration in Latin America
Management and Finance
Mining Engineering Technology
Mineral Processing Technology
Hydrometallurgical Processing
Total Quality Management: Performance, Monitoring, and Information Systems, and
Environmental Regulations and Technology
The book is indexed.
The papers which are clearly presented, well illustrated, and well referenced will be a most useful guide to all those interested in the developments in the Latin American mining industry, particularly over the past decade. -- Australian Mineral Foundation, AMF Reviews: Vol. 26(4), April 1998
